The OR Surgical Technologist will work at a hospital recognized for their surgical services, Level II Trauma Center, newborn and pediatric services, and cancer care. This hospital is focused on delivering high quality, personalized patient care through utilizing a team oriented approach, cross collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and cutting edge technology and techniques.
The OR Surgical Technologist will work at a hospital recognized for the perioperative services department. This hospital offers 12+ operating rooms with the ability to perform complex procedures in addition to general surgeries. Procedures most commonly performed include cardiovascular case, orthopedics, neurosurgery, trauma, and daVinci robotic surgery. Reporting to the Director of Patient Care, the OR Surgical Technologist, will join the surgical technologist team, working alongside CST surgical technologists, CSFA surgical first assists, (NCCT) TS-C certified techs in surgery, and Certified Operating Room and Surgical Technicians (CORST). Responsibilities of the OR Surgical Technologist will include handling the instruments, supplies and equipment needed prior and throughout the procedure.
With previous experience, the OR Surgical Technologist is familiar with proper handling and care of specimens, supply and equipment maintenance, preparing the operating room, performing surgical scrubs, draping patients, and maintaining aseptic conditions. Under the direction of the surgeon, the OR Surgical Technologist is able to perform tasks related to an electrosurgery unit and bowel stapler, intraoperative activation of power equipment, and skills to operate a skin stapler while the surgeon approximates the tissue.
