Epic Resolute Hospital Billing and Claims Analyst - Onsite or Remote at UTHealth

We are looking for an Epic Hospital Billing and Claims Analyst who will be primarily focus on Epice's Resolute Billing and Claims module. This will be classified as level I-IV depending on experience combined with education. The employee will be responsible for the ongoing design, build, testing, validation and ongoing support of Epic patient access and revenue cycle modules across the health care system. Analyst will need to work with operational stakeholders and IT technical staff to troubleshoot Epic system issues and problems. Analyst will be heavily involved in ongoing application support i.e. break fixes, handle enhancement/optimization requests, quarterly Epic upgrades. Application Analyst will work with customers at all levels in the organization to enhance their understanding of available tools to enhance operational efficiencies. The Analyst will be also be cross trained to become proficient in multiple applications. This position will primarily work remotely from home, but must be able and flexible to travel to campus to attend some required onsite meetings and/or provide go-live support to meet our Service Level Agreements. If a "remote only" candidate is identified they will also be considered.

This is a full-time role that is eligible for all UTHealth benefits including outstanding healthcare options as well as participation in a pension plan run by the State of Texas. The home office is in our UTHealth Professional Building in the heart of the Texas Medical Center.

Duties include:


  • Responsible for building system components, testing, implementation support and maintenance of assigned Epic applications focusing on Resolute HB.
  • Perform in-depth analysis, trouble shooting, data collection, and root cause analysis and then identify and/or implement potential solutions for issues related to the system or usage of it.
  • Analyze/review and test each product release and communicate needed changes to operations.
  • Must be able to document and follow system change control procedures for the system.
  • Work closely with other analysts, software vendors and operations to ensure that system integrity is maintained and that IT deliverables meet operational business needs.
  • Research, analyze, facilitate and implement business and system workflows in order to expedite process improvement and coordinate business practices.
  • Identify best practices and implement opportunities for standardization.
  • Attain necessary certifications, as applicable, in a timely manner according to policy.
  • Provide on-call support for application.

Certification/Skills:

Must already be certified in Epic Resolute's HB module for revenue cycle.

Minimum Education:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, business or a related discipline; equivalent years of related experience in health care or information technology will be considered in lieu of education requirement

Minimum Experience:

Two (2) years of experience in a health care related field required. Large scale health care systems planning and implementation experience on application software products preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
