TransCore (TRN), a subsidiary of Roper Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: ROP) is seeking a full-time Software Engineer III to join our team in San Diego, California.
Job Description: This Software Engineer III is responsible for designing and developing the next generation of Enterprise Level .NET Service Oriented architecture applications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Writes and/or analyzes functional and performance requirements.
Estimates software development time and cost.
Prepares software design documents.
Determines and obtains concurrence on acceptance criteria.
Selects computing platform, operating system, software tools and languages if not specified in requirements.
Develops, debugs and tests code using simulators, stimulators and mockups.
Develops device drivers at the processor register level; may include assembly language development
Corrects errors by making appropriate changes and then rechecking the program to ensure that the desired results are produced.
Conducts trial runs of programs and software applications
Compiles and writes documentation of program development and subsequent revisions
Writes, updates, and maintains computer programs or software packages to handle specific jobs, such as tracking inventory, storing or retrieving data, or controlling other equipment.
Consults with managerial, engineering, and technical personnel to clarify program intent, identify problems, and suggest changes.
Performs or directs revision, repair, or expansion of existing programs to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements.
Writes or contributes to instructions or manuals to guide end users.
Investigates whether networks, workstations, the central processing unit of the system, and/or peripheral equipment are responding to a program's instructions.
Prepares detailed workflow charts and diagrams that describe input, output, and logical operation, and convert them into a series of instructions coded in a computer language.
Provides software support (phone, email, and onsite) to customers.
Provides daily, weekly systems integrity checks of the deployed systems and applications.
Utilizes software version control software for check-in/check-out of code.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information management or equivalent work experience
Required Skills & Experience:
At least 5 years of hands-on experience working on all tiers and be especially comfortable using the latest UI frameworks such as Angular.
3 to 5 years of experience developing enterprise level applications using C#.NET, ASP.NET, Angular, WebAPI, WCF, MVVM and other software engineering patterns.
Experience developing SQL Server stored procedures and SSRS reports.
Proficient with Microsoft Visual Studio 2013 and above.
Experience in responsive web design, mobile web apps, cross-browser compatibility with HTML5, Bootstrap, jQuery and with such modern frameworks as Angular.
Desired Skills:
Experience with UI control frameworks Material Design and/or Angular Material
