What You’ll Do

The Technical Lead will be responsible for researching and evaluating new technologies and guiding the technical efforts of the team to leverage them as they apply to solving our business unit objectives. The Lead will be responsible for ensuring that the best technical approach and practices are applied in all phases of the application lifecycle as it pertains to these newer technologies as well. This person will leverage rapid prototyping techniques to try and demonstrate these new technologies to both the business and technical teams.  This will include:


  • Research & Development (Understand emerging technologies, present and recommend technologies to address business needs, scalability, performance, technical debt, etc., prototype newer technologies in a sandbox environment)

  • Application Development: Perform application technical design, write efficient and maintainable code.

  • Oversight of Application Quality: Lead the team to integrate test driven development and automated quality assurance testing


  • Technical Guidance/Support for team members


Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in business, software engineering or computer science and 6-9 years of technical experience in software design and product support 

  • Intermediate to advanced level of experience in utilizing Agile Scrum or Kanban for software development

  • Experience guiding global teams on the technical design and implementation of Analytical platforms in GCP using cloud native technology stack.


  • Experience with SQL, Python, Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Tableau or other business intelligence tools


  • Experience with streaming frameworks, e.g. Flink, Spark Streaming, Kafka


  • Experience with REST API services using Java


  • Experience with deploying high availability, high performance, multi-regional, multi-data center cloud  applications


  • Strong skills with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Git, Bamboo, Ansible, HELM charts etc

  • Experience working with cross-functional product teams


  • Proven track record build complex and highly scalable systems from ground up


  • Strong understanding of data warehouse and application from design to deployment


  • Experience working with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, XP) and cross-functional teams  (Product Owners, Product Architects, Developers, Test Engineers)
