Department Description:

Loan Capital Strategy covers the loan product, which is one of the three primary product lines within CIB Banking. The team is responsible for the origination and strategy around the retained lending portfolio, which includes both general relationship lending and transaction based trade finance. The overall focus of the group is on balance sheet optimization, which requires thoughtful analysis, strategic planning, and client dialogue around the allocation of JPM's capital and liquidity resources.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Support the Global Head of Loan Capital Strategy to set the strategic agenda and to track progress against key metrics across the portfolio

• Develop expert level knowledge on the regulatory treatment and economics for the expansive suite of lending products within Banking

• Cultivate a strong partnership with Bankers from IB Coverage, Global Corporate Bank, and Debt Capital Markets in addition to functional partners across Risk and F&BM across the globe

• Work closely with deal team representatives to ensure the returns of credit facilities and client relationships are being appropriately represented to the Balance Sheet Committee

• Optimize balance sheet usage by assessing portfolio / product level returns to determine future capital allocation strategies

• Facilitate the distribution capabilities for traditional lending products by serving as a liaison and trusted advisor to both public and private-side groups

• Work on initiatives and projects as part of a small and highly collaborative team, with a keen focus on maximizing efficiencies and improving internal processes

• Collaborate with Technology on enhancing the output and return calculations of the Loan Return Calculator in order to strengthen the ease of doing business for lending products

• Develop innovative ways in both dashboards and presentations to showcase pertinent information for both F&BM and Bankers

• Develop analytics and assess trends on balance sheet related items such as metrics and Future Business Potentialc

Skills Required:

• Bachelor's degree with at least 3+ years experience in business management / financial analysis / control / planning

• An ability to develop product knowledge, specifically in loans and trade finance, with focus on capital and liquidity requirements

• Results-oriented with the ability to work both at a strategic and detailed level of analysis; able to take ownership and work independently, as well as on a team

• Strong partnership skills and ability to interact across different support and front office groups

• Ability to work in pressure oriented environment and able to handle multiple tasks

• Understand how to synthesize and articulate results to a diverse audience (i.e. product control, business managers, treasury, bankers, CFO, technology)

• Solid organizational skills and ability to prioritize, with capacity to independently lead initiatives

• Strong Excel and Powerpoint skills
