Job Description

The Statistical Data Management (SDM) division of ISO is responsible for data collected via ISO's statistical plans as well as via alternative data collection methodologies. The Data Validation team, for which you will be working, is part of SDM. The holder of this position will be part of a fast-developing team with the aim to develop and implement data validation tools in support of ISO's data assets. The team also provides enhanced customer tools for quality data reporting. You will apply data management and analytical skills to analyze business requirements and convert them into data validation specifications used in our propriety multiline data quality processes and programs. In addition, as part of this innovative solutions team you will be providing much needed support to improving and modernizing ISO's internal systems.

The Business Analyst II in Data Validation will work within a team environment to identify statistical data requirements, including data quality needs, as well as support activities with data contributors to understand their needs, and contribute to developing innovative solutions that will enhance the value of ISO's data and information assets. The ideal candidate is highly inquisitive, detail-oriented, and a systems thinker who will be able to learn our business logic and systems.

* Analyze regulatory and business requirements for the development of multiline data validation quality checks and implementation of changes to ISO's data management and reporting systems.

* Furnish technical specifications for IT development and manage the creation and execution of detailed test plans to validate system changes against functional and quality assurance requirements.

* Promote and execute quality service by following data quality and customer service standards; analyze and resolve customer data problems; identify trends; and provide suggestions for improvement in data quality review procedures.

* Develop more efficient, automated ways to improve data quality and error detection processes and systems.

* Assist with the development of our system modernization roadmap through the creation of case studies and detailed test plans to validate the migration of existing processes to modernized platforms.

* Work cross-functionally with other departments in order to ensure smooth delivery of service enhancements and features.

* Create queries and extract information from Internal Databases.

* Build and maintain proper documentation, procedures and guidelines.

* Prioritize business needs and make considered decisions while handling multiple projects.

Qualifications

* A minimum of 3 years of Property & Casualty insurance experience a must.

* Bachelor's degree, with emphasis in data analytics, data science, economics, or a related field.

* Intermediate knowledge and experience with programming languages such as R, Python, XML/JSON and traditional languages such as SQL, Java.

* Data management experience or knowledge of insurance data management principles.

* Professional insurance exams such as CPCU, IDMA, CAS, etc.

* Knowledge of ISO statistical plans or similar statistical reporting experience a plus.

* Knowledge of Snowflake and Jupyter or experience converting file formats to AWS.

* Working knowledge of AWS and experience using an S3 browser.

* Experience working within an Agile framework.

* Proficiency with spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel) and text editors (Notepad++).

* Strong written and oral communication skills.

* Ability to work under time constraints and adjust plans in the face of changing priorities.

* Capable of working both independently and in a team environment.

* Passion for problem solving.
