What's the role?



The role of Compensation Analyst III is the key consultative resource to functional business leaders and human resource business partners in all aspects of Hilti North America (HNA) compensation philosophy, policies, and procedures. This role is heavily involved in the design, development, training, and implementation of base pay and variable pay strategies throughout the organization.

What does the role involve?



Partner with Human Resource Generalists and business functions to ensure completed job documentation for all roles within Hilti North America

Complete job evaluations to ensure market competitive pay ranges and internal equity within HNA compensation philosophy and guidelines

Compensation department owner of job evaluation processes; ensure compensation department remains engaged with any and all updates from global compensation guidelines

Responsible for planning and executing the payment of the annual bonus cycle including accruals; owner of all documentation of bonus pay process and responsible for annual review and improve processes (R&I)

Provide guidance to business functions and human resource partners in interpretation and application of business and human resource policies

Provide guidance to business functions and human resource partners in interpretation and application of employment law (FLSA, ERISA, USERRA), as required

Advise HR Generalists on more complex and non-routine compensation issues, salary offers, and compensation analysis/reporting

Partner with HRIS and Payroll team members to proactively audit compensation and job data within HR systems to ensure 100% accuracy

Contribute as a key team member in the design and development of base and variable compensation plans

Complete impact analysis and modeling, as needed, for various compensation updates and proposed changes

What you need is:




  • Bachelor's degree, required; preferably in Human Resources or Finance

  • Minimum five (5) years' experience in business environment, required

  • Minimum two (2) years' experience in compensation administration or financial analysis, required

  • Experience managing corporate compensation or technology compensation structures, preferred

  • Strong excel skills (advanced formula ability), required

  • Knowledge of, and ability to, apply federal, state/provincial and local employment laws, required

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively partner with the business on compensation related topics and provide solutions, required

  • Ability to interact with all levels of management, required

  • Demonstrated application of critical analytical and creative thinking skills, required

  • Demonstrated project management and multi-tasking abilities, required

  • Strong ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities, required

  • Ability to build and interpret complex financial models projecting cost of variable compensation plans

  • Experience working in a matrixed organization, preferred

  • Experience with Canadian provincial requirements, preferred

  • Work towards CCP, preferred
