Job Description:

Are you technically-savvy, detail-oriented and a good writer? If so, we want to hear from you! UPS is seeking a dynamic Digital Content Specialist to craft content for ups.com and publish it in the Content Management System (CMS). He/She reviews content maintenance requests, writes and edits copy, facilitates translations, performs QA, gains sponsor review and approval in a Preview environment, pushes jobs to Production and conducts reporting as needed. He/She creates and maintains a content matrix (i.e., list of assets) to define and document scope of project work. The Digital Content Specialist also executes assignments to support Digital Experience Team as required. He/She proposes alternative solutions for content requests unable to be implemented due to CMS limitations to ensure project sponsors’ needs are met.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Reviews content maintenance requests, evaluates scope of work and gains all necessary reviews and approvals prior to publishing
  • Verifies content projects in various environments (e.g., preview, staging, production, etc.) and for various targeted audiences to ensure content was properly installed
  • Creates URL manifests for project sponsors and QA team to allow for review of published work
  • Completes rework requested by sponsors and QA team to meet customer content expectations
  • Collaborates with Content Strategists, DX Managers, and project sponsors to ensure content aligns with Brand/Editorial standards and Business requirements.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional disciplines (e.g., application developers, internet architects, graphic designers, region subject matter experts [SMEs], etc.) to gather identified assets needed to complete project work
  • Identifies translation needs based on project scope, timelines and approved processes
  • Submits internal translation requests to region SMEs to ensure translation is completed as needed for content projects
  • Proposes CMS and content development process improvements to increase efficiencies
  • Identifies existing defects to remedy or document for future update in compliance with QA standards

Knowledge and Skills

  • Demonstrates understanding of implementation objectives, project plan, and one's role within a project; participates in the implementation of a project; provides timely, thorough and concise updates for area of responsibility; identifies areas of risk and properly communicates them to the management team
  • Demonstrates a general knowledge of techniques for soliciting and gathering information
  • Demonstrates a general understanding of technology used by the company; communicates basic technological concepts and terminology; applies standard technology in daily work
  • Bachelor’s Degree (or internationally comparable degree) or 3-4 years' UPS experience - Preferred
  • Experience working as an Enterprise CMS - Preferred
