The Escrow Specialist processes tasks relating to: monitoring tax payments and insurance/flood vendors, private mortgage insurance and Rural Housing premiums, FHA premiums and fulfills customer needs to ensure customer satisfaction. The Escrow Specialist is responsible for compliance with Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae servicing requirements. Responds to internal and external customer's requests regarding escrow analysis, private mortgage insurance cancellation, taxes and insurance inquiries.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze and review all Escrow Analysis for escrowed loans.


• Coordinate with collections for approvals for escrow payments on loans in Loss Mitigation, Foreclosure and Bankruptcy to comply with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac requirements.


• Ensure all insurance renewal premiums on escrowed loans and earned premium on force placed coverage are processed timely and within regulations.


• Identify potential issues or concerns and participate in a solution, including recommending and developing new policies and procedures.


• Monitors all Loss Drafts and Escrow Holdbacks to ensure all repairs are completed prior to releasing insurance claim funds/loan closing funds and complying with investor guidelines.


• Other duties as assigned.


• Process and make payment for PMI premium disbursements monthly/annually.


• Process various special projects, as needed as, well as reviewing information for loan acquisitions.


• Responsible for responding to escalated borrower inquiries regarding insurance, tax and escrow analysis.


• Review and process Escrow Exception Report - disbursement rejects.


• Review and process tax vendor information for tax disbursements on escrowed loans.


• Track and maintain homeowner's/flood insurance cancellations for placement of forced placed insurance.


• Other duties as assigned.

Experience/Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in mortgage loan or in a mortgage related area.


• High School Diploma or GED


• Customer service, team and goal oriented with a positive attitude towards work and others.


• Ability to work in a high volume and time sensitive environment.


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are needed to interact with internal staff and external customers.


• Ability to effectively multi-task and prioritize workflow in a high-volume environment, ability to work well independently, as well as part of a team to achieve department/group goals.


• Well versed and knowledgeable with regulatory and investor guidelines and keep current with all Federal, State, industry specific and departmental policies.
