Position Overview

As the Facilities Attendant, you will maintain high level of cleanliness in assigned location by following government-mandated and Company standards/policies. You may also perform various duties in support of functions at assigned facility including light maintenance and mail distribution.

Function Related Activities/Key Responsibilities


  • Sustain safety, sanitation, and management of self, equipment and work area to comply with government mandated standards and/or company policies
  • Perform general janitorial duties to include but not limited to sweeping and mopping of floors, vacuuming, dusting of surfaces, fixtures and overhead structures, cleaning restrooms, emptying trash and garbage containers, replacing light fixtures, maintaining kitchen/break areas in cleanliness and supplies, etc.
  • Maintain the exterior appearance of assigned location, to include but not limited to picking up trash and occasional small limbs and sweeping and blowing off patios and sidewalks
  • Maintain and insures adherence to the MCS (Master Cleaning Schedule)
  • Routine inspections of the facility and equipment to determine service needs
  • Routine visual inspections and test of life safety equipment and grounds safety
  • Maintain adequate inventory levels of such items as janitorial supplies, kitchen/break area supplies, etc
  • Maintain Material Safety Data Binder with current documentation for all janitorial cleaning supplies
  • Identify and standardize processes to improve operation efficiency; utilize lean tool to promote continuous improvement activity
  • Responsible for mail sorting for assigned facility
  • Assist in preparation and execution of special events as necessary
  • May perform basic warehouse functions such as but not limited to: Loading and Unloading of product, pulling of customer orders, stacking and wrapping pallets, if assigned to such location
  • Perform related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates to support operations of assigned facility
  • May be requested to perform different or additional duties as assigned

Position Requirements


  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1 to 2 years related experience or training
  • Valid driver's license or valid state, federal or local ID card
  • Forklift Certification may be required dependent on location
  • Basic computer skills
  • Knowledge of typical janitorial practices and workplace safety

  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds independently.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must possess the ability to use a variety of hand tools such as scrapers, air hose, ladders, wrenches, screwdrivers, etc. (varies dependent on location)
  • Field Sales Environment- While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts; in high, precarious places; and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but may be moderately loud in warehouse areas.
