JOB DESCRIPTION |
This person will be responsible for the safe and efficient operations of all crews. The person will plan, direct and coordinate the crews to ensure safety, quality and productivity metrics are achieved. Must be able to travel (relocate) from jobsite to jobsite for continued employment, able to work both scheduled and non-scheduled overtime, and able to work night (second or third) shift assignment. If slip forming operation is in progress, able to work 12 hours or more per day, 7 days per week, for two weeks plus period of time. |
ACTIVITIES/TASKS/SCOPE |
· Lead by example that safety is the number one priority · Supervise, coordinate and schedule the activities of the crews · Read specifications, such as blueprints, to determine construction requirements and procedure planning · Inspect work progress, equipment or construction sites to verify safety, quality and specifications are met · Locate, measure and mark site locations or placement of structures or equipment · Coordinate work activities with other construction project activities · Confer with superintendent or technical personnel, other departments or contractors to resolve problems or to coordinate activities · Track and enter time and equipment daily · Lead safety meetings · Generate a 3 week look ahead/schedule for the project · Maintain contact with engineering and discuss potential issues and keep up to date drawings · Maintain official project log and documentation files · Ensure all company QC/QA programs are met · Work with office personnel to aid in bidding future projects · Assist workers engaged in construction activities, using hand tools or other equipment · Train and develop crew members as deemed necessary · Maintain good customer relations by acting in a professional and courteous manner · Other duties as assigned |

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE |
· High school diploma or GED required · Must have a clean driving record · 5-6 years of quality experience in heavy civil construction · 2-3 years of experience in managing and leading a team |
