We are currently seeking candidates for an E&O/Cyber Underwriter in our Midwest region.  The ideal underwriter will have experience handling Professional Liability/E&O and Cyber lines of coverage.


Our Underwriters are responsible for blending analytical and marketing skills into an effective business style by applying analytical skills to the risk assessment process; developing solutions for global customers; cultivating relationships with agents and brokers while using relationship to place business with Chubb; selling Chubb’s competitive advantages in the marketplace and negotiating pricing and terms and conditions in a competitive marketplace that meet the customer’s needs and positions Chubb to achieve a profit


As an E&O/Cyber Underwriter in Chubb’s Chicago office, serving the Midwest Region, major duties and responsibilities are:

  • Achieving their goals through joint travel, approvals and strategic planning for new/renewal business

  • Solicits new and renewal submissions from brokers

  • Determines terms and conditions and complex rating plans

  • Binds coverage

  • Documents the underwriting files

  • Underwriting the following lines of coverage:

    • Cyber Liability

    • Technology E&O

    • Miscellaneous Professional Liability

    • Architects & Engineers Liability

    • Contractor’s Professional Liability

    • Media Liability

    • Lawyer’s Professional Liability

    • Public Officials Liability

    • Educator’s Legal Liability

    • Employed Lawyers Liability


  • Bachelor’s degree


  • 2+ years underwriting experience

  • Knowledge of insurance industry

  • Knowledge of underwriting concepts, practices, and procedures

  • Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Internet usage

  • Oral and written communication skills

  • Negotiation skills

  • Marketing skills
