The Operations Controller performs complex tasks and analysis requiring a deep understanding of cost accounting/product costing, general accounting, financial reporting and budgeting and forecasting.  Provides financial and controlling pro-active advice to organization (primarily Supply Chain Management, Operations, Manufacturing).Here are just a few of the things you will get to do:

 

• Ensures correct product costing, in compliance with Heraeus guidelines.  Responsible for calculating labor rates, material overhead, production overheads, machine rates, mass costing runs, calculating and establishing allocations.


• Leads Operations and Supply Chain Management (SCM) on savings initiatives and implement tracking mechanisms.


• Conducts meetings on custom project costs (before and after).


• Inventory Reserves:  Analyzes automatic inventory devaluation for obsolete inventory and FMW rules and process manual corrections.  Discusses devaluation proactively with Sales management & Operations.


• Responsible for monthly rolling forecast submission, including preparing written and verbal over-view and explanations/rationale.


• Provides oversight on all inventory topics, including WIP Aging Review, annual stock counts (liaise with auditors, bridge gap between warehouse personnel & auditors), analysis on fluctuations, participations in projects/initiatives.


• Completes analysis of operations KPI’s; DIO, scrapping rate, etc.


• Significant role in the annual budgeting process, currently done in MS Excel, so must have ability to work with multiple files and inputs and be very focused and have a structured approach.

• Bachelors degree (master’s preferred) in accounting or finance. 


• 5+ years of experience.


• At least 2 years of experience in finance/controlling for a manufacturing company.


• Knowledge of SAP product costings processes and master data (Work centers, Bom’s, Routings, activity rates/types,  overheads, cost centers, machines rates, labor rates, internal orders, allocation cycles).


• Willing to travel to Maryland 1-2x a quarter.  Possible travel to Germany (once a year).
