What you will do

Oversees the delivery of highly-available Information Technology Services to Fire Suppression Products (FSP) Business Units including: Special Hazards, Foam, and Water Mechanical.  Process scope includes all functions associated with the marketing, sales, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and aftermarket support of products owned by the listed business units. Global Responsibility as relevant with the remit of the Senior Management Team Partners.  Responsible for all IT strategy and support for businesses with global revenue of $1.3 billion.

How you will do it


  • Overall staff and service management responsibilities for the Information Technology Group including:

    • Primary point of Business Relationship Management for FSP business units

    • Regional Participation and Compliance with all relevant Governance Organizations and Processes from Global Products IT and Corporate IT

    • Disaster Recovery

    • SOX Compliance

    • Acquisition Integration where relevant



  • Establishes and maintains strong procedures and controls, effectively researches and utilizes leading technologies, manages value generation and works productively with Johnson Control’s global IT departments to ensure the successful implementation and support of a balance of competitive differentiation and global standardization.

  • Responsible for Project and Program management compliance of IT solutions deployed within the group in cooperation with the Corporate IT ePMO and Compliance team’s guidelines.

  • Transforms the business by evaluating issues with a broad, multi-function, multi-year perspective.  Finds ways to continually improve the technology utilization to expand the business.

  • Manages up to 4 direct and approximately 20 contract or managed service resources

  • Manages an operating budget of $9 to $11 million and a project budget of $2.5 – 3.5 million

  • Support the ongoing execution of the key initiatives including system modernization, security modernization, and application/ERP improvements regardless of deployment-state or platform.

  • Support the ongoing technology transformation initiatives and integrations as scheduled.

  • Ensures integrity of organization-wide data, proprietary information, and related intellectual property through information security and access management.

  • Establish IT as a trusted business partner with Executive Business Partners.

  • Able to effectively influence key stakeholders, team members and peers not in your direct control, to design and deliver optimal solutions in line with the best interests and expectations of the business partner

  • Able to effectively communicate and work with customers and vendors as needed

  • Ability to work in a matrixed environment

  • Manage and collaborate cross-functional global IT teams to deliver IT solution support service to business

What We Look For

Required:


  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Finance, or Computer Science.

  • Minimum of 20 years of progressively increasing responsibility within Information Technology with at least 10 years’ experience supporting relevant business relationships. 

  • Leader with an entrepreneur mindset, focused on delivering revenue generating solutions while minimizing delivery time and waste.  

  • Proven ability to manage a large, distributed IT organization. 

  • Proven ability to manage multiple, large-scale projects or programs and act as a trusted technology advisor to business partners. 

  • Experience working with Business and Technology Leaders to architect actionable IT solutions. 

  • Experience accessing IT capabilities pre-announcement (requiring NDA) and proposing points of interest or concern on proposed merger and acquisitions. 

  • Proven quality focus in providing customer-driven products, services, and solutions. 

  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment and to lead others in a directed effort to complete projects. 

  • Proven ability to mentor others in the technical and/or business aspects of information systems projects. 

  • Strong English skills required. 

  • Ability to lead international teams (Europe, China, Japan, and Middle East) that accomplish global goals.

  • Travel required.
