Overview

Responsibilities

Finance Auditor is responsible for performing financial, operational and compliance audits and special projects under the direction of a Senior Auditor or Risk, Control, & Audit (RC&A) management to identify financial exposures, financial misstatements, compliance or control deficiencies and operational inefficiencies. The role will also prepare workpapers to document audit procedures performed and to support the relevant audit findings. The role is part of the RC&A team, so may work to support internal controls activities in addition to Internal Audit duties. This provides opportunities for diversity in audit type and scope. Specific responsibilities noted below.

Responsibilities:

    Perform audit procedures under the direction of the Senior Auditor to determine the reliability of internal control systems.
  • Incorporate data analytics and automation tools when performing audit procedures.

  • Audit a variety of financial, compliance and operating records and procedures requiring the application of professional accounting and auditing principles and standard operating procedures.

  • Identify process, financial and compliance control weaknesses and communicate audit issues to the Senior Internal Auditor supervising the audit.

  • Assist in developing recommendations for audit issues identified.

  • Participate in opening and closing meetings.

  • Assist in the preparation of audit reports.

  • Prepare and organize audit workpapers to document the work performed and support the audit issues identified.

  • Function as a member of the IA team, demonstrating effective teamwork and cooperation.

  • Provide assistance to external auditors under the direction of Senior Auditors or others in RC&A.

  • Develop a further understanding of US GAAP and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) and local GAAP accounting rules, where applicable.

  • Develop an understanding of FMC accounting, project management, and internal control policies, procedures, and processes.

  • Demonstrate a commitment to personal and professional development as part of the RC&A organization.

  • Achieve deadlines set by leadership and proactively monitor and raise instances where deadlines cannot be met in a timely fashion.

  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

  • Support the Data Analytics and Automation group within RC&A and promote a data and risk driven culture.

  • Exhibit Safety as a core value.

Required Education

  • A four-year degree in business administration, finance, accounting or management information systems required.

Qualifications


  • 3+ years of relevant auditing experience, preferably public accountingand/or internal auditing in a global manufacturing / chemicals company.

  • Professional accounting and auditing qualification attained or in progress such as CPA, CISA, CIA, PMP, CFE, or foreign equivalent.

  • Basic technical accounting skills and basic knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SOX required.

  • Basic knowledge of audit practices, procedures, and principles and a willingness to further develop these skills.

  • An ability to use Alteryx, PowerBI, or other data analysis tools is a plus.


  • Knowledge of SAP is a plus.

  • Demonstrate organizational skills, strong interpersonal skills, customer management skills, analytical, change management and communication skills

  • Ability to build appropriate rapport; build constructive and effective relationships; use diplomacy and tact when delivering difficult messages/audit findings

  • Must be able to work in foreign operations and travel.

  • Fluency in English.

  • Other financial, compliance or operational experience will be considered if they demonstrate a passion for professional development.
