This position is a key member of the Fairbanks Morse (FM) Finance team coordinating monthly cost accounting activities and supporting inventory functions within Fairbanks Morse. In this role your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:
Performs cost accounting activities, including valuation of inventory, analysis of manufacturing overhead variances, and creation of manufacturing product costs
Assists in calculation of standard rates for parts, labor and overhead
Performs reconciliation of purchase price variance on materials received, adjusting unit costs as required
Reconciles and investigates WIP job variances
Reviews spare parts costs and provides updates as needed
Supports internal, external, and customer audits; performs duties adhering to SOX controls
Assists with GL period close activities, including the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations and financial statements
Prepares monthly reporting comparing actual to budget for assigned accounts
Assists with physical inventory counts and administering the cycle count program
Assists with the quoting process
Actively seeks continuous improvement to be implemented within owned processes
Basic qualifications for this role include:
Bachelors Degree if Finance or Accounting
2+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
Must have knowledge of regulatory requirements including GAAP, FASB, etc.
Must be proficient in MS Office; strong Excel skills required
Preferred Skills and Experience include:
Experience performing cost accounting functions is preferred
Proficient in use of an ERP computer software package; Oracle experience strongly preferred
