We are currently seeking a DIGITAL ENGINEER II - View Platform. The View Platform team is a cross functional team comprised of extremely talented individuals. We are building the next generation framework that supports our front-end experience teams who drive BestBuy.com. On a daily basis, we encounter and solve interesting engineering challenges, using the latest technology and frameworks, which allows our platform to easily scale to meet the demands of a top 5 e-commerce site.

What you will do as a DIGITAL ENGINEER II:

• Provide work direction for specific initiatives in the design, development, deployment and support of software development with small to mid-size development teams


• Provide expertise in software development lifecycle phases from concept and design to testing and deployment


• Define and lead development workflow, providing work direction for development team through complex development on a suite of applications/programs


• Collaborate with team members across disciplines to solve problems of a top 10 e-commerce website


• Create work plans, estimates, and solution blueprints to facilitate project delivery to the satisfaction of stakeholders


• Use modern technology to build accessible, innovative, and highly interactive user and application interfaces


• Write code and complete programming using current programming language and technologies


• Troubleshoot complex system issues, fix software defects and perform overall testing and debugging of applications


• Share and champion ideas that can evolve how we build products

• 6+ years related e-commerce / web development experience using tools / technologies including Java, Kotlin, Groovy, JavaScript and a Bachelor’s degree; or 8+ years related experience without Bachelor’s degree


• 1+ years of experience providing work direction/leadership for development teams

• 3+ years delivering solutions leveraging Spring, Spring Web-flux, Spring Boot and Spring Batch preferred


• 3+ years of experience producing and/or consuming REST web services


• 2+ years producing quality code using TDD techniques and/or writing applicable unit tests


• 2+ years of experience using relational databases, Oracle preferred


• 1+ years of experience using NoSQL databases, Cassandra and/or Radis preferred


• 1+ years of experience in messaging systems, RabbitMQ preferred


• 1+ years of experience building user interfaces using modern frameworks, NodeJS, ReactJS, and Redux preferred


• Experience with reactive programming frameworks, such as ReactiveX


• Experience with off-heap caching solutions, such as Memcached


• Experience with container platforms, such as Docker


• Experience with at least one CDN


• Experience in an e-commerce/digital domain or retail systems
