The NICU Respiratory Therapist will work closely with the respiratory health team including Physicians, Registered Nurses, and other Respiratory Therapists. The NICU Respiratory Therapist will be able to take direction from leaders efficiently and be able to maintain an open line of communication.


The NICU Respiratory Therapist will be working in a Level III neonatal intensive care unit, providing respiratory care to babies born at less than 32 weeks as well as babies born with critical illness at all gestational ages. The staff in the NICU are highly trained experts that work to provide the best medical care.


The NICU Respiratory Therapist will work closely with newborns in the NICU (neonatal intensive care unit) to provide care for a number of respiratory complications including asthma, chronic bronchitis, pulmonary hypertension, dyspnea, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The NICU Respiratory Therapist will be tasked with assessing, identifying, planning, and treating each medical situation within the Respiratory Department and NICU Department. The NICU Respiratory Therapist will be responsible for management, rehabilitation, and evaluation of patients. The NICU Respiratory Therapist will perform cardiopulmonary patient assessments and evaluations. The NICU Respiratory Therapist will have strong communication skills and be able to work well with other therapists and providers to ensure optimal care.
