Job Description:

Position Summary: Works as part of a team to complete daily required Payroll functions and achieve company/department goals. This role is part of the HR Team in our Corporate Headquarters location in Eugene, Oregon.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Process semi-monthly payroll, commissions, and intermittent payroll checks; enters and maintains payroll files necessary to process payroll in compliance with federal and state reporting requirements;Timely and accurately complete the process regarding new hires, terminations and complete all documentation needed for payroll processing; as directed.Assists in preparing documents, maintaining records for FMLA/OFLA and other Leaves of Absences; as directed.Assists in developing, testing, and implementing changes to the payroll computer system (Kronos). Provides payroll knowledge, input, and tests new processes to ensure they work properly.Provides guidance, expertise, and technical support to human resource software system users; acts as liaison for problem management, resolves system issues, and addresses user issues; gathers information from users and recommends best practice methods to utilize software effectively; runs test scenarios to confirm the system provides the necessary functionality;Stays up to date through research on payroll laws, Company policies, and government regulations prior to making payroll changes and implementing payroll-related provisions. Coordinates changes with Human Resources;Prepares documents for and participates in payroll related audits, such as payroll benefits, 401K and workers Comp as directed;Prepares and reconciles employee deductions, garnishments, benefits, 401k, and third-party billings; as directed.Coordinates and maintains data relating to the payroll system operation; prepares regular and ad-hoc reports; and maintains central control of payroll records to ensure the integrity and accuracy of each payroll transaction in the payroll system;Researches and analyzes reports and payroll data as directed.
Secondary Functions:
Reports current employment statistics to the us department of labor; reports data for annual survey of government employment us census bureau; and verifies earnings for employment verification.Performs these and all other duties assigned by supervisor or management.Consistently read and respond to all correspondence, including emails.Successfully complete required training.
Required Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED with 5 to 8 years of payroll experience.Three (3) or more years of experience with Kronos Workforce Ready, preferred.Three (3) or more years of experience in successful preparation of 150 + employee payroll using a variety of wage and salary methods.Three (3) or more years of work experience related to maintaining a payroll system or processing payroll records.Solid computer skills, proficient in Excel and Word.

Intermediate to Expert Excel spreadsheet skills.Effective at accurately processing large volumes of data within strict, unalterable timelines;Effective interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills.Use computerized financial information and reporting systems to generate accurate financial and management reports;Use mathematics to solve problems and perform calculations;Effectively understand written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents and orally communicate effectively;Ability to juggle multiple payroll projects at a time, while maintaining sharp attention to detail;Take ownership & proactively work to improve processes within the payroll department;Must be honest and ethical and maintain confidential information.Accept criticism and deal calmly and effectively with high stress situations;Be reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfilling obligations;Be careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks;Ability and willingness to treat the public, vendors and coworkers in a manner consistent with the Company's mission and philosophy statements.Work independently and as a member of a team.Must present a professional, business-like manner and appearance.

Work Schedule and Travel:
Hours Per Week: Regularly scheduled for 40 hours per week,Days Per Week: 5 days per week / 8 hours per day,Shift: Day shift.Overtime: Occasional/Regular overtime may be required, depending on payroll processing effectiveness.Weekends/Evenings: may be required, depending on payroll processing effectiveness.May be required to travel to/from Tyree Oil locations; Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
