The Lead Operator directs, trains and coaches machine operators in all aspects of their roles. The Lead Operator must use judgment, manufacturing experience, and leadership skills to promote an environment that fosters teamwork and open communication. The Lead Operator focuses the team on quality, safety, and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Onboard regular and temporary employees including training in operational procedures and work instructions.


• Monitor control charts and capability reports to ensure parts are meeting customer specifications.


• Ensure Operators are meeting rate and throughput expectations.


• Work with process technicians to resolve out of process issues.


• Develop and implement safety and security procedures.


• Operate manual or auto injection molding, blow molding, and thermoset molding presses.


• Inspect, trim, label and package plastic molded products.


• Track manufactured and rejected parts on the Production Control form.


• Inspect production parts visually and dimensionally using hand and automated inspection equipment. Record results in the SPC.


• Other duties as assigned.

Required:

• Minimum of one year in a manufacturing environment.


• Experience training and leading others in manufacturing processes.


• Previous ERP systems experience.


• Good basic arithmetic skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide and decimals).


• Experience with measurement equipment such as micrometer, dial indicator, CMM, OGP, etc.


• Ability to lift up to 55 pounds.


• Plastic molding experience preferred but not required.

Schedule:

• Sunday – Thursday (11:00pm - 7:00am)


• $2/hr. shift differential
