Role Overview:

The Application Developer is responsible for new features and changes to Centauri's applications and works closely with senior staff who direct application development. The Application Developer works and collaborates well with the development team and with business users to meet the needs of the company and users. The Application Developer thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and is adaptable to evolving priorities and new projects.

Role Responsibilities:


  • Code, test and troubleshoot applications utilizing the appropriate tools

  • Partner with users to gain understanding of needed modifications of existing programs

  • Resolve questions of program intent, data input, output requirements, and inclusion of internal checks and controls

  • Maintain and modify applications, making approved changes by amending program specifications, developing detailed programming logic, and coding changes

  • Create unit tests and automated regression tests when appropriate

  • Actively learn new technology and apply in ways that can lead to better user experience or productivity gains

  • Understand and agree to role-specific information security access and responsibilities

  • Ensure safety and confidentiality of data and systems by adhering to the organizations information security policies

  • Read, understand, and agree to security policies and complete all annual security and compliance training

Role Requirements:


  • 0-2 years' experience in developing applications in a Microsoft .NET or web service environment or Java

  • Software development experience using modular approach and experience with OO methodology

  • Experience developing applications systems using an n-tier architecture

  • Ability to 'translate' technical information to users with a variety of skill levels

  • Strong collaboration and relationship building skills

  • Excellent problem-solving, listening, and decision-making skills

  • Development skills using modular approach and experience with OO methodology

  • Experience in developing applications across Microsoft Windows, .NET, web services platform, Java or technology that is required

  • Experience working with relational database platforms such as Microsoft SQL

  • Experience with C# .NET 4.0+ Framework or Java and with .NET MVC 5

  • Experience with NHibernate or similar ORM framework

  • Experience with Angular or similar JavaScript framework

  • Experience using Visual Studio with AzureDevOps Integration or other source control product

  • Basic knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL) and experience with Microsoft SQL Server

  • Relational Database analysis and design, data modeling, logical design, user interfaces and query processing using SQL and query optimization

  • Experience with IT best practices, including development lifecycle, configuration management, deployment of new versions of applications, implementation planning, troubleshooting, monitoring, and support

  • Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred or Associate degree with appropriate experience will be considered along with solid academic foundation in software development and strong technical knowledge and skills
