ERM is seeking a Technical Director, Digital Services to join our global Digital Services business. The Opportunity:

This is an excellent senior level opportunity for a professional with significant consulting experience and private-sector client relationships, who is ready to advance their career to the next level with a global environmental leader. As a senior leader, you will be accountable for successfully consulting and delivering excellence on a range of EHS&S Management Information Systems software solutions projects to build a sustainable business locally, while networking with ERM's global Digital Services team to share best practices across the industry. This position will provide market insight, business development, and deliver technical excellence on projects.

Role Profile:

This is a key role in growing ERM’s Digital Services business unit with a focus on supporting and expanding a network of excellent client relationships within our practice. We are looking for a driven client- facing consultant who is interested in being part of ERM’s thriving global community – outstanding professionals who combine strong consulting and business development skills with a technical foundation.

Responsibilities:


  • Supervise key members of the global technical team across the Digital Services business.

  • Develop and implement strategic business/action plan, provide leadership, and deliver performance results to expand the Digital Services offerings.

  • Serve as a key member of the “core” technical team to drive double-digit profitable growth across the Digital Services business (e.g. effectively working with key clients by assisting them with their EHS&S Management Information Systems software selection, implementation, system integration, training, rollout, support, maintenance, and improvements.

  • As a “seller/doer,” contribute to business development of ERM’s global technical community.  Identify and develop new Digital Services opportunities, prepare effective technical proposals, and take active leadership role in developing new business with new and existing clients. Develop and expand client relationships

  • Serve as senior practitioner for Digital Services projects and related activities in support of ERM clients with a focus on EHS&S Management Information Systems projects. 

  • Develop and manage strategic programs for a variety of clients with complex technical/regulatory issues; Design and direct large programs and EHS&S Management Information Systems projects and multi-person project teams; Achieve client’s expectations for scope, budget, schedule, and quality.

  • Work closely with clients and develop strong relationships to understand specific processes and develop strategies to help clients maintain maximum operating flexibility.

  • Lead technical proposals and participate in business development with existing clients and identified leads.

  • Capitalize on existing client relationships to expand ERM’s profile and market share in the Digital Services markets (through a combination of excellence in technical delivery and business development to generate repeat business.)

  • Effectively manage project teams, including appropriately delegating project assignments to project teams and mentoring junior

  • Lead, manage performance, inspire and mentor personnel for overall success of the team.

  • Develop a working understanding of ERM’s other consulting service areas and actively support cross-selling these services to existing clients. Support the general growth and development of ERM’s international Digital Services area. Coordinate with ERM offices in the US, Asia-Pacific, Europe, and Latin America regions.

Requirements:


  • BS/MS in a technical field such as Information Technology, Computer Science, Environmental Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems or related program.

  • 15 years of software development experience.

  • Relevant consulting experience working with significant clients on EHS&S Management Information Systems software solutions and sustainable EHS programs.

  • Strong experience in staff development of junior and senior developers; Possess supervisory and managerial skills for direct reports.

  • Knowledge of server and communication infrastructure (protocols, firewalls, security).

  • Middleware/ ETL integration process experience.

  • Hands on EMIS application experience.

  • Advanced development experience with web based programming languages (HTML, JavaScript, .Net)

  • Skilled in RDBMS Database System Design

  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.

  • Personal and confidential information security experience.

  • Proven experience in application lifecycle development process.

  • Successful track record developing and implementing successful business growth strategies in EHS&S Management Information Systems.

  • Successful hands on experience with Enablon, Intelex, Cority, SAI Global EHS 360, Sphera, or related EHS&S software systems.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain long-term relationships with clients, and book personal sales in new Digital Services consulting services within the EHS&S domains.

  • Recognized technical expertise by and established reputation in the local marketplace.

  • Ability to travel as needed.
