The Senior Commercial Manager is responsible for individual contribution as part of the Global Contracting & Commercial Solutions Group / Commercial Excellence for UnitedLex.
He will be deployed to certain RED rated Accounts in DXC to lead the commercial / contracts function in that engagement. The deployments to such Accounts vary in terms of the engagement depth and can be anything from a full deep dive and Lead Commercial role of the Account to a “consultancy” / checks & balances interaction. From experience and historic deployments, the majority of the engagements are covering disputes between DXC and the Client followed by Account optimizations (e.g. Governance, AOP improvements).
At the outset of each engagement is the overall commercial and contractual analysis of whatever the issue is. Once a full analysis has been performed and interactions with the Account team have led to a good understanding of the overall drivers and root causes for the RED status, it is for the Senior Commercial Manager to shape the commercial/legal strategy in close alignment with the AGM and Senior Legal Leadership. The primary goal is to facilitate and support financial improvements through de-risking disputes or generating additional AOP. The role is usually covering the interaction with the Client.
The role of Senior Commercial Manager requires the individual to be well skilled in commercial and contract analysis and provision of expert advice and guidance on contract interpretation, understanding of the key risks and obligations of contracting and an ability to leverage the contract to be maximum advantage including elements of profit / margin optimization. Candidates should have particular strengths in teamwork (internal & external customers), leadership, contract risk/liability assessment and problem-solving. They must also have the interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with internal clients and lead such teams to a desired result.
The role is based in the US and may include local, regional, or global support and may also require travel from time to time.
