Job Description:

Division of Information Technology Services:  The Division of Information Technology Services (ITS) is responsible for the safe, efficient and responsible use of technology throughout the agency.  ITS provides solutions that support DODD business.

At the Department of Developmental Disabilities assigned Developmental Centers (DCs) &/or offices, installs, maintains, configures, upgrades &/or administers hardware (e.g., PCs, laptops, printers) &/or software (e.g., MS Office Professional) independently in workstation support (e.g., Helpdesk support), network administration, server administration, business continuity, information security, telecommunications & network connectivity, & SAN administration (i.e., multiple technology domains) where technical work requires specific knowledge to evaluate, select, adapt & modify standard procedures; devises new approaches to problems encountered. Diagnoses, analyzes & resolves issues for customer(s) across assigned multiple technology domains. Creates, organizes, files & maintains documentation.

 

Grants access, maintain user accounts, troubleshoot problems, upgrade software & performs system backup.  Reviews & monitors enterprise security systems (e.g., network stability); takes appropriate action & responds to alarms/alerts per agency policy & procedure (e.g., anti-virus, spam).  Provides input & suggestions to supervisor/management relative to scope of duties.

Interfaces with other platforms from a hardware &/or software perspective (e.g., video conference equipment).  Changes telephone system (moves\adds\changes) updates speed dial, pull reports.  Support DC payroll department with Kronos time clock hardware configuration.  Configures wireless devices to connect & operate on the network (e.g., notebook, smart phones etc).

Answers questions from end users, offers technical solutions & assistance to meet business needs of customers & presents informal mentorship opportunities to peers &/or lower-level staff via conversation, observation or technical documentation.  Offers assistance with producing various reports for the center.

Performs client support for specific agency/enterprise systems.  This includes user account support, end user support & training, & application support.

Completion of undergraduate core program in computer science or information systems; 24 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: installing, monitoring/maintaining, configuring, upgrading, &/or administering/operating multiple technology domains including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology specified by the agency in the position description & job posting.

-Or completion of associate core program in computer science or information systems; 30 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: installing, monitoring/maintaining, configuring, upgrading, &/or administering/operating multiple technology domains including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology specified by the agency in the position description & job posting.

-Or 48 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: installing, monitoring/maintaining, configuring, upgrading, &/or administering/operating multiple technology domains including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology specified by the agency in the position description & job posting.

-Or equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.
