The Research and Development Manager - Biology Design will lead a team in the execution of innovation goals to achieve established business strategies. In this role, you will lead the execution of a portfolio of projects, process improvements and goals supporting business objectives.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Lead a high performing, highly engaged team to create vision, strategic workforce planning, organizational development, engagement and communication.
Provide leadership and advisory on how to execute on the company's innovation and continuous improvement portfolio.
Responsible for the successful completion of selected projects within the global product and continuous improvement portfolio according to agreed time frames and budgets.
Partner with business leaders and customers to identify opportunities to leverage emerging research and technology innovations as well as to identify areas for future business growth.
Develop and align strategic research plans and priorities across research teams and businesses to create consistencies and efficiencies, aligning with a unified approach across the function.
Develop plans and deliver results in a fast-changing business or regulatory environment, while leading and developing a team of experienced professionals and supervisors, coaching and making decisions related to talent management hiring, performance and disciplinary actions. You will also collaborate with managers and supervisors in your organization to ensure staff selections align with current and future needs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in a related scientific field
Experience communicating scientific research to a broader audience
Minimum of six years of related work experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
PhD in a Biology related field
Minimum of three years of supervisory experience
Experience using strain engineering techniques and/or ‘omics approaches, biomarker discovery, and diagnostics for microorganism improvement
