Summary
Works with Safety Director regarding safety incident and injury investigation and reporting, worker's compensation issues, and serves as liaison between manufacturing, HR and other departments as needed. Responsible for inspections, training, safety policy enforcement and reporting.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
Compiles and keeps all required safety records, safety manuals, SDS and accident forms that are required.
Maintains files for all accidents, including phone conversations, witness statements, reports, accident investigation results.
Works with Safety Director to follow and inform of corrective actions, significant or repeated cases, and manage risk to company.
Works with purchasing and manufacturing personnel to maintain current list of hazardous chemicals. Maintain a list of all SDS as well as help maintain safety manuals and paperwork.
Responsible for workers comp laws to ensure proper compliance.
Creates internal forms, documents, flyers, and training programs related to safety.
Develops an effective return-to-work program.Initiate modified duty or full return to work. Obtain job description and discuss job modifications required to ensure a prompt return to work
Contact injured employee immediately upon notification of injury. Assess injured workers understanding of injury and facilitate any necessary treatment.
Prepares and submits required reports to management and HR.
Directs injured employees to appropriate medical treatment and service providers.
Update monthly incident report rate form for safety director.
Other duties as assigned related to safety and worker's compensation.
Attendance in the office during normal business hours.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Education : College graduate or equivalent.
Experience: Working knowledge of OSHA safety and training requirements, safety incident root cause analysis investigation experience.
Computer Skills: Experienced with MS Office programs.
Other Requirements: Position requires maturity, confidentiality, and the ability to interface with various departments and individuals. Must be flexible and able to work independently or as part of a team, as workflows dictate. Lean/Continuous Improvement experience a plus. Ability to develop procedures and training tools for increased efficiency.
