Microwave Test and Characterization Lab Intern

Job Description:

This is an undergraduate summer intern position in aproduct engineeringgroup which works on high frequency semiconductor devices in the range of several MHz to over 40GHz using Gallium Arsenide monolithic microwave circuits (MMICs) and some silicon Integrated Circuit technologies. The successful applicant will join the group over the summer vacation and undertake varies tasks mainly in the Engineering lab where the designed devices are tested and their performance evaluated. This involves the use of state-of-the-art lab equipment and will lead to and understanding of this equipment, as well as some electronics, semiconductor and microwave measurement experience.

Besides assuming responsibility for some of the lab activities, project work will be undertaken: this will be defined early in the internship to ensure the scope is aligned between company needs and the interns career goals and skill set.

Job Qualifications:


  • At least 1 year of undergraduate study (at the time of starting) with plans to, and grades sufficient to support entry into the next year of undergraduate study.

  • The successful candidate will be inquisitive and have an interest in engineering and learning about the Microwave semiconductor industry.
