New opportunity with Bruker OST for a Business Unit Controller based in Carteret, NJ. This comprehensive Finance role is an exciting opportunity for a strong Controller with excellent FP&A skills. The ideal candidate has a proven track record across all Controllership functions as well as experience in providing proactive business support and partnership.
Responsibilities:
The Business Unit Controller serves as a Strategic Business Partner to the General Manager and Management Team to achieve overall financial performance objectives. Reporting to the VP Finance Bruker EST, you will work collaboratively with the business to lead the strategic planning process, establish sound budgets, and be responsible for monthly rolling P&L forecasts. This leadership role requires a continuous improvement mindset with a desire to proactively assess financial processes and lead improvement initiatives.
Full responsibility for all Accounting and Finance matters for the legal entity
Work with shared service Accounting team on efficient and effective month end and quarter end closing processes, manage internal and external audits
Prepare financial statements according to UGB/ US GAAP
Support a robust internal control system and overall controls environment
Further development of a uniform, continuous reporting system locally and within the Group; create and track KPI's and key metrics
Manage and improve the forward-looking planning processes: Budgeting, quarterly forecasts and updates of business plans
Collaborate and partner with the management team; provide proactive and strong financial support and leadership to the BU General Manager as a trusted business partner
Study the business operations and perform independent financial analysis to identify opportunities for improvement, lead improvement efforts especially as it relates to gross and operative margins and the P&L, and working capital efficiency.
Support and guide the cost accounting and product costing systems
Further develop software, tools and systems to enhance finance processes within the finance department and enable improved reporting and business insights
Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
University Degree with focus on accounting, controlling, finance or related discipline
Minimum 3+ years of recent Controller work experience (or equivalent) within a manufacturing company
Proven track record and expertise with demonstrated Finance and accounting experience and knowledge (balance sheets, P&Ls, cash flows, KPIs, consolidations); US GAAP and SOX
Deep knowledge of cost accounting and business processes of a manufacturer
Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, computer, analytical, and technical communication organizational, and presentation skills
MS Office with advanced Excel, deep SAP and BPC proficiency including experience leveraging SAP systems
Collection, analysis, preparation and presentation of financial data for management, Group Finance and external parties as appropriate (e.g. auditors, banks)
Proven understanding of commercial business needs, actively maintains strong working knowledge of industry drivers and trends
Excellent relationship management skills within a rapidly changing and diverse, multi-national commercial work environment
