Position Summary

Jeffers Crane Service, LLC, a construction equipment rental company is seeking an experienced professional to fill the position of a Controller.  In this hands-on position, you will report directly to the General Manager and supervise a small office team.  You will manage the accounting and administrative functions for the Oregon, OH and Lima, OH locations in a casual environment with a tight knit team. This is a full-time, exempt position with a competitive Benefits package.

Essential Functions

• General accounting, including A/P, A/R, general ledger, reconciliations, and GAAP compliance.


• Financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly and year end closings.


• Credit and collections.


• Payroll and commissions (working knowledge of UltiPro software is a plus).


• Sales tax return preparation.


• Management of small office staff.

Position requirements

• Bachelor degree in accounting or related field.


• A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting.


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


• Ability to work in a small office environment.


• Experience in an unionized environment is preferred.


• Working knowledge of Nexgen maintenance and/or Great Plains accounting software is desired.
