JOB TITLE:  Planner

DEPARTMENT:  Supply Chain Planning

 

JOB SUMMARY

This role is primarily responsible for taking ownership and accountability of a portfolio of products; incumbent manages the end-to-end process of these products in order to maintain customer service to agreed-upon target levels.   CooperVision expects each Planner to develop relationships and work closely with all stakeholders, while following the organization?s values: Dedicated, Inventive, Partners and Friendly. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

 

1.Manages inventory at both product and item level to achieve organizational targets.

2.Ensures site availability for order fulfillment.

3.Develops and executes replenishment plans to maintain service and inventory level commitments. 

4.Plans and schedules workflow for Packaging department and Operations.

5.Works closely with Manufacturing Planning Teams and the Global Supply Chain Team in support of global service and inventory level goals.

6.Provides input to monthly Demand and Operations Planning and Sales and Operations Planning.

7.Supports New Product Launches and Product Discontinuances; participates on launch and discontinuance teams.

8.Proactively monitors products, using BI/Tableau tools to identify priorities of critical items to ensure a high level of customer service.   

9.Makes planning decisions and moderates policy adjustments on an individual basis, as warranted. 

10.Supports and maintains Industry GMP?s (Good Manufacturing Practices).

11.Supports organizational goals to achieve key performance indicators (Perfect Order Fulfillment, Backorders/Service Levels, and Capacity/Forecast Consumption).

12.Keeps management informed on a timely basis of any problems and potential solutions, bottlenecks, and other potential issues. 

13.Participates in Continuous Improvement Projects.

14.Performs special projects and analysis as defined by management. 

 

15.Provides back up support to other Planning Team members.

 

SCOPE
Part of a team of 10 to 12 people, the Planner manages a subset of products, planning thousands of items at the SKU level.   These are part of a larger portfolio of products, that are typically resupplied at $100M annually.  
The Planner utilizes ERP and other planning systems to achieve benchmark-level supply plans, while achieving +99% product availability.   The position demands daily interaction with colleagues and internal customers across several geographies.

 

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS 
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

?Proficient in the use of Excel, Word and PowerPoint; advanced skillset preferred. 

?Strong analytical skills with an ability to utilize data from multiple sources. 

?Able to utilize ERP and Planning systems; knowledge/experience with Logility preferred. 

?Willing and able to travel to global locations (preferred). 

?Outstanding communication skills required ? verbal, written and presentation. 

?Able to work effectively on an independent basis, or within a team environment (team environment with independent work, requiring  significant interaction with peers, customers and colleagues). 

 

?Able to work in a Regulated environment, to include ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP?s). 

 

Work Environment

?Prolonged sitting in front of a computer.

 

?Normal office environment; may visit warehouse floor environment for periods of time.

 

Experience

?Two to four years Supply Chain/Planning or related experience.

?Experience working in a Regulated environment preferred.

 

?ERP/Planning software experience required; Logility preferred. 

 

Education

?Associates degree in related field required; Bachelor?s preferred.

 

?Completion of, or in progress of, APICS, CPIM or CSCP Certification, strongly desired.
