Job Description:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer to support the bay area Facilities Project Management team. The project engineer is responsible creating the Project development plans with estimations of projects for multiple business units.

Job Details


  • Scheduling meetings, reviewing materials, and gaining consensus for project development activities

  • Coordinates with project architects, designers, owners, and field personnel.

  • Responsible for Request for Information (RFI) and submittal process during PDP

  • Manages project subcontractors as assigned per owned projects

  • Acts as the “information hub” for project to office and field personnel to ensure continuity of work handed over to PM’s.

  • Offers technical information to project manager to ensure work complies with applicable codes, drawings, and specifications.

  • Monitor and track project quality control metrics and activities on a regular basis, provide timely and accurate quality reports, and raise issues to PM or Superintendent as appropriate. 

  • May coordinate change orders, expedite material, and job site equipment if needed for site run projects.

  • Create/Assist with preparation of estimates, and compile data to assist in analyzing project progress

  • Inspects all work to assure compliance with plans and specifications. Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.

  • Oversees performance of all trade contractors and reviews architectural and engineering drawings to ensure that all specifications and regulations are being followed. 
     

Qualifications


  • Graduate of a four-year degree program in construction management, construction science or civil engineering Mechanical Engineering

  • Ideal candidate will have an Engineering background, 4 plus years’ experience

  • Must be well versed with Microsoft office products such as word, excel, and outlook

  • Must be able to read construction drawings and blueprints

  • Strong understanding of the entire construction process

  • Strong AutoCAD skills, Revit and Bluebeam

  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Good oral and written communication skills.

Skills


  • Project Engineering (2 years of experience is required)

  • Manufacturing (2 years of experience is required)

  • CAD (1 year of experience is required)

Responsibilities:


  • Lead planning studies and analyze existing space use

  • Develop options for facility renovations

  • Facilities renovation planning, infrastructure planning, space efficiencies and the preparation of Project Planning Guides, which are documents used to justify and explain physical projects

  • Collection, analysis, organization and presentation of information and data obtained from professional staff, other administration and operations groups and consultants

  • Provide reports and presentations on proposed projects and policies

  • Conducts research on space-related issues, analyzes situations accurately and develops corrective solutions in the selection of alternate approaches to space utilization.

  • Projects space needs based on organization growth and changes.

  • Calculates space and related requirements using mathematical and programmatic formula to optimize space available.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience/Education:

  • Typically requires a minimum of 2-5 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.
