Kitchen Helper at Thomas Management LLC

Job Description:

Under the supervision of the Food Service Director, the Kitchen Helper performs a variety of food service duties, including prepping & serving food for patients, maintaining a clean organized workspace, and ensure safe food handling procedures. Also is responsible for the clean-up and stocking of the food preparation areas

Tuesday– Saturday 11a-730p

Salary Range: $13-$14/hr. DOE

Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Prep & produce patient meals as dictated by diet order, ensuring consistency and compliance with the recipes, portioning, cooking, and waste control guidelines.

  • Possess a friendly outgoing demeanor; works well with others.

  • Follow guidelines concerning dietary guidelines, food and physical safety, maintenance and equipment/space cleaning, requirements at all time.

Requirements:


  • Must be able to pass State & Federal background check & drug screening

  • General kitchen knowledge and basic cooking/knife skills.

  • Food safety training required within 6 months of hire.

  • Proficient in verbal and written English language.

  • Must have ability to work well under pressure and respond quickly.

  • Must be able to self-motivate and have time management skills.

  • Adheres to dress code, appearance is neat and clean.

  • Reports to work on time and as scheduled.

  • Works at maintaining a good rapport and cooperative working relationship with co-workers and other departments’ staff

Preferred Experience:

Food service experience, preferably in healthcare with dietary knowledge. General kitchen knowledge, basic cooking and knife skills. ServSafe Certification

Physical Demands:

Vision, hearing, repetitive motion and environment. Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individual with disabilities to perform the essential function of the position without compromising patients care.
