Job Description:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Operate assigned machine(s).

  • Load and unload material and see that material feeds into machine(s) properly.

  • Check production coming off machine(s) to correct specifications at time intervals designated by the in-process work instruction.

  • Stop machine when: (a) parts are found to be out of specification, (b) parts jam in machine or when (c) machine indicates some malfunction and notify supervisor of discrepancy.

  • Mix and obtain correct drawing lubricant as required.

  • Ask supervisor for decision in doubtful cases.

  • Inform supervisor of low raw material or drawing lubricant supply.

  • Reverse strip at proper production count when running multiple blank strips.

  • Lubricate and/or clean machines and tools as per established procedure

  • Operate machines wherein experimental, developmental and/or jobs requiring special attention is a factor.

  • Keep all necessary records and complete all necessary forms.

  • Assist in other plant operations as directed by supervisor.

  • Adhere to all safety regulations.

  • Keep work place neat, clean and orderly.

  • Perform proper handling and labeling of hazardous materials and wastes, as directed by supervisor. This includes performing required Hazardous Waste (and PPC) Site Inspections and meeting spill response objectives.

  • Other duties as may be assigned.


  • Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend the English language.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and calculate percentages.

  • Ability to operate a keyboard and perform basic computer functions.

  • Ability to use and understand measuring devices such as micrometers and calipers.

  • Knowledge of SPC required.

Physical Demands:


  • Physical effort equal to frequent lifting or moving of materials. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with assistance as necessary.

  • Use of hand/fingers continuously through shift to manipulate components, tools, etc.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Walking, bending, stooping with minimal to moderate frequency. Sitting and or standing 8 hours daily. 

Education and/or Experience:


  • High School Diploma or GED, 1 or more years of vocational training preferred.

  • 2-5 years of experience.
