VP Firmwide Data Use Governance

Firmwide Data Management ('FDM') serves as the governing body to create firmwide standards that drive consistent data management practices, develop technologies and processes to support data management priorities, and partner with Lines Of Business ('LOBs') to embed data management best practices and capabilities. Within FDM, the Data Use team was established in response to the emerging risk of data use, and focuses on initiatives that enhance and protect the value of JPMC's data in the rapidly evolving \"Big Data\" economy

Role Description

This position will report to the Firmwide Data Use Executive Director and will lead efficiency in data use governance and monitoring efforts to mitigate misuse of data across the firm. This role involves substantial cross business interaction and a control mind set.

Responsibilities


  • Influence group stakeholders to ensure data use execution efforts support adherence to standards and policy across the Firm
  • Determine automations to increase efficiency on data use processes leveraging technical solutions for both permissible data use and monitoring efforts.
  • Determine enhanced monitoring opportunities leveraging technical tools to support the LOB and Corp function data use efforts.
  • Develop and implement data use KRI and KPIs focusing on breaks causing data risks from misuse of data.
  • Partner with cross-business and corporate functions to create and publish procedures or guidelines for Data Use Governance

• Manage and oversee other BAU duties such as:

• Administration of Corporate Data Use cases and CDO reporting

• Content creation for regular senior management program updates

• Provide awareness training and act as a central point of inquiry

• Interface with partners & stakeholders to provide relationship management


  • The role will require working on multiple projects simultaneously

Qualifications


  • 5 plus years of experience in or related to financial services and financial technology with demonstrated appreciation and aptitude for leading disciplined, complex projects within a business to business environment with sophisticated parties
  • Demonstrated interest in technology and "Big Data" in the financial services industry
  • Experience with financial industry regulators a plus
  • Expert in developing senior level presentations
  • Advanced Degree; MBA or other graduate degree a plus
  • Working knowledge of risk, compliance, audit and operational management concepts, with the ability to manage the impact of policy and procedural changes and identify and address potential problems
  • Working knowledge of intellectual property and privacy concepts a plus
  • Strong control orientation
  • Exposure to Control Self-Assessment design and implementation
  • Excellent relationship skills with the ability to indirectly lead and gain consensus on process and control-related issues
  • Exceptional verbal, written and communication skills
  • High tolerance for ambiguity matched with desire to create structure and drive results
