This is a Vice President level position with a focus on our Microsoft strategic alliance.

Responsibilities


  • Responsible for overall sales and delivery accountability of our most strategic and valued partners by building a trusted advisor relationships

  • Achieves a balance between long term growth & short term bookings perspective

  • Understands current and future industry/partner needs in the context of market dynamics, and drives programs that deliver short and long term objectives for Equinix and Partner

  • Ensure excellence of customer experience

  • Shape and execute global alliances strategy across direct and matrixed cross-functional team.

  • Coordinate negotiations of technology & business agreements

  • Represent requirements and opportunities to partner team, and represent partner technology requirements to internal product and marketing teams

  • Develop an overall vision, strategy, and execution plan with specific revenue objectives. Establish and track key success metrics

  • Strategic thinking – cloud trends, manage risk, analytics mindset, anticipates change in business

  • Team leadership – coaches and is coachable, inspirational team leader with high EQ and influencing skills, service mindset

  • Business and commercial orientation – business development skills, horizon planning, pricing skills

  • Relationship Management – expectation management, creative, innovative, build followership

Qualifications


  • Ideally has been in either direct sales or a business development leadership role in or outside Equinix

  • Established track record of successful leadership of sales and BD team members

  • Has managed senior client and partner relationships in large complex, global and multi-disciplinary environments

  • Understands macro trends in Cloud and is able to articulate key business implications on the Partner and Equinix core businesses

  • Has strong organizational navigation skills with ability to roll-up sleeves and get things done in a global and multi-disciplinary environment

  • Strong cross-functional and multi-region operating experience with motivational and relationship focused management style

  • Able to develop business plan and to scale the partner relationship like a true P&L

  • Strong negotiation and team-building skills with the ability to create consensus among cross functional teams and leaders

  • Strong decision making, analytical, and problem solving skills

  • Change agility: Able to influence and drive change

  • Creative, flexible, and innovative, energy supplier

  • Must be able to travel both domestically and internationally

  • 15+ years’ experience in developing strategic partnerships

  • Proven ability to successfully build strong relationships with partners, with demonstrated success in working with C-level executives

  • Strong technical foundation, including an in-depth working knowledge of the enterprise software and data-center infrastructure spaceMBA or equivalent experience is desired
