Position Description:

We offer an exciting opportunity for innovative, self-motivated Injection Molding Technical Engineer who is looking for well-rounded, hands-on experience within a stable and unique industry. Plastipak is the largest privately-held plastic rigid manufacturer in North America, with global operations.

This role is charged with the continual development and implementation of Injection Molding Best Practices throughout the enterprise in regards to overall operations, maintenance, installations and projects.  The Injection Molding Technical Engineer analyzes site injection molding metrics and provides recommendation for performance improvements.  Assist with equipment support in regards to technical troubleshooting.

This position would require US travel approximately 70%-80% of the time and International travel approximately 5-10%.

The balance of time would be spent assisting in the development of maintenance best practices, training and educating others on technical aspects of injection molding equipment, and assessment of injection equipment and site best practices performance to determine areas of focus.

Responsibilities:


  • Analyze injection molding performance metrics in an effort to standardize and develop best practices within global injection sites.

  • Lead process improvement projects as well as new equipment installations.

  • Continual improvement of maintenance operations of injection molding systems and related equipment and standardized processes through SAP software.

  • Explore new technologies and implement those that are applicable to the operation.

  • Works in a safe and efficient manner at all times.

  • Follows and enforces company and local work rules, safety rules, policies and work instructions.

  • Miscellaneous related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


  • Technical degree and /or 10+ years’ experience on Husky Injection molding equipment a must.

  • Must have advanced hands-on and technical knowledge of injection molding process and hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical troubleshooting knowledge.

  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills as demonstrated by local testing, transcripts, and/or references.

  • Excellent inter-personal skills as demonstrated.

  • Strong written communication skills.

  • Strong leadership skills.

  • Independent thinker and effective troubleshooter.

  • Demonstrated integrity and respect.

  • Experience in Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint and SAP software is preferred.
