Job Description:

As a Elevator Utility, you will be responsible for assisting in elevator activities such as loading/unloading wheat, equipment repair and facility sanitation. To succeed, you must be able to:

Your responsibilities:

• Work in a safe, conscientious, organized, and efficient manner.


• Responsible for any housekeeping duties as assigned including, but not limited to Confined Space bin cleaning operations.


• The Utility is the area owner of the following, but not limited to : all tunnels, galleries and rail unload areas.


• Clearly and effectively communicate with peers and supervisor in person and over the radio.


• Learn and fill in for other positions within the elevator department but not limited to Scale Operator, Wheat Grader, Feed Loader, Mixer.


• May be required to perform required preventative checks and repairs such as greasing, oil level checks, inspections of equipment operation and minor adjustments and repairs such as wheat trippers, legs, spouts, conveyors and other equipment.


• Perform other duties and fill in for other skilled positions throughout the facility not limited to the Elevator Department as assigned by supervisor.

Essential skills and experience:

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.


• Able to add, subtract, multiply, divide and perform simple arithmetic calculations.


• Proficient in computer tools including email and spreadsheets.


• Proficient in English both written and verbally.

Good to have:

• Experience in a warehouse or production environment.


• Experience working outdoors in all seasons.


• Basic mechanicalunderstanding/experience.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions (with or without reasonable accommodation):

• Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as is required by the operating areas (i.e. safety glasses, protective footwear, hearing protection and, at times, a respirator)




• Ability to work a rotating schedule including nights, weekends and holidays




• Ability to work a machine paced continuous process that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with conditions which include:

• Heat/Cold temperatures (inclement weather)




• Indoor/Outdoor environment




• Dusty environment




• Noisy environment




• Frequent moving/vibration/ or other motion of equipment/processes

• Elevated Places

• Must pass a physical abilities testwith or without reasonable accommodation with the ability to:

• Frequently stand, walk, rotate,bend/stoop, twist, crouch, kneel, balance and reachor lift at shoulder level,above shoulder level,and below shoulder level




• Frequentlyclimb stairs and/or ladders




• Occasionallylift, shoveland/or carry up-toup-to65pounds

• Frequently push/pull/torqueup to75poundsof force

• Must be willing to be cross-trained in at least one other position for development within the facility and to provide any relief duties as needed.
