The ideal candidate will play a critical role in the development of multiple parts of the business by analyzing past, current, and future business trends. This individual will establish holistic, enterprise technical strategies and implement solutions to achieve digital, data driven business outcomes. They will work cross-functionally with internal business units and external partners in order to understand the challenges that these teams face and provide holistic, strategic, integrated solutions to these groups.



This person will be working between the Financial/Operations/ESG/HR/IT groups and vendors to clearly document, gather requirements, (functional and system). Works with SME's to obtain requirements through interviews, document analysis, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, workflow analysis and use cases. Evaluates the information from those multiple sources to develop an understanding of the business requests, needs and translates them into application and operational requirements. Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to lead a project or group.



PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Under supervision, responsibilities will include but not limited to the following essential functions:



  • Identify and document existing businesses process and owners

  • Develop new product and service oriented strategies

  • Communicate and implement strategies alongside technical team

  • Identify and solve weaknesses within the organization through technical solutions

  • Explore new ways to increase digital outcomes, driving revenue and decreasing risks

  • Improve business processes throughout the company, prioritized by company initiatives

  • Participate and lead medium to large projects to successful completion.

  • Work cross-functionally with key business partners to help establish strategic goals and objectives, project objectives, and set expectations on functional scope

  • Gather requirements by conducting interviews, work flow analysis, process analysis, and observation sessions to understand business problems

  • Design solutions using existing and new technologies

  • Facilitate meetings with project stakeholders to determine project and application requirements

  • Create, update, and follow validation and verification plans/user stories /sprints

  • Create cost/benefit business case scenarios for projects and change requests

  • Utilize risk management in all activities to ensure success.

  • Balance multiple deadlines and prioritize key deliverables

  • Solve technical problems and recommend solutions

  • Provide training to employees

  • Provide expert advice and assistance on operating problems relating to area of expertise

  • Specify design criteria and relevant operating parameters for development of AI and ML and/or new projects within area of expertise

  • Identifies and tracks new technologies in area of expertise that have potential to benefit the company.

  • Participate in project technical reviews and reviews proposals for new or changed operating procedures on area of expertise to ensure efficient and economic operations



EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:



  • 10+ year of extensive Oil and Gas experience

  • 10+ years of progressive IT experience, preferably with a large organization or an organization experiencing growth in size and location

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent background or experience; Related Master's degree



  • Proficient with agile/product methodology

  • Proficiency with SQL, and comfort with Python

  • Experience with AWS and/or Azure

  • PowerBi and Spotfire experience a plus



  • A strong understanding of Information/Application Security on premise and in the cloud

  • Performance analysis, troubleshooting and remediation techniques

  • Experience with ERP systems

  • Detail-oriented/relentless, willing to find cracks in the system to expose problems

  • Work closely with other team members to optimize field development strategy and maximize value within area of expertise

  • Ability to work in a highly-functioning team atmosphere and fast paced environment with multiple on-going projects

  • Must be able to work collaboratively in large, multi-disciplinary teams

  • Highly organized, results oriented, not afraid to think differently, speak out and have a willingness to learn



  • Strategic thinker with exemplary analytical and problem-solving skills and capacity to identify information and resources needed to complete tasks

COMPENSATION:


Salary is commensurate with experience.



WORKING CONDITIONS:


Work is normally performed in a climate-controlled environment, where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, poor ventilation, fumes and gases is very limited. Noise level is moderate and includes sounds of a normal office environment. No environmental hazards are encountered in performance of normal job duties.



PHYSICAL DEMANDS:


Work normally requires finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination to operate computer keyboard at moderate skill level. Work may require occasional pushing, pulling, or carrying 20-pound objects such as files, documents, boxes, etc. Work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve standing and walking for brief periods. Minimal travel is required.
