Job Description:

Provide general business, human resources and/or administrative assistance by performing the following duties. This is an internship and the intern generally works 40 hours per week for a period of 10-12 weeks during the summer.



Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES may include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

Help process and deliver intercompany and U.S. Mail.

Assist human resources with administrative tasks to include scanning and imaging benefits and personnel information and completing information in the Company’s HRIS system.

Research or enter information on the computer to provide assistance to various departments, inquire on or update accounts, facilitate replies to customers or vendors, prepare bills, receipts, checks, or other documents.

Photocopy and scan documents, and perform other miscellaneous duties.

Provide phone support, interacting with other operating company personnel, customers and vendors.

Map and document business processes.

Sort and file records.  Proofread records or forms. 

Assist with projects on an as-needed basis such as organizing information, presenting information, creating documents, working on company’s SharePoint sites, developing training modules or training documentation, etc.

May be required to facilitate meetings, gather information from various personnel and summarize information in a clear, logical format.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Successful candidates should be currently enrolled in undergraduate program and have at least one year of college.  Candidates are required to have high school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Must have strong Excel skills and be familiar with Microsoft Word and Outlook.  PowerPoint and/or SharePoint experience is appreciated.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, vendors, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.   Ability to speak clearly and produce quality written communications. Ability to effectively present information to Individuals or small groups.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and volume. 

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
