Job Description:

The Financial Consultant I is responsible for achieving stated monthly sales goals by meeting with clients and potential clients to identify financial needs and offer the appropriate investment products offered through LFCU Brokerage & Insurance Services and processes operational paperwork in a timely manner. Delivers a goals-based wealth management approach, including planning for retirement, education, legacy, and other life goals through investment advice and guidance. Develops sales through prospecting, referrals, and marketing programs.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Actively prospects the credit union membership for potential clients.

  • Develops member leads through marketing and referral programs for sales staff.

  • Complies with all regulatory FINRA and State Insurance laws and regulations.

  • Processes new account applications.

  • Coordinates and presents financial information seminars at the credit union or other locations.

  • Processes ticket orders and other operational paperwork in a timely manner.

  • Cross-sells products and services offered at the credit union.

  • Generates a minimum of $20,000 gross commissions monthly or a specified assigned goal.

  • Meets with members and communicates the features and benefits of mutual funds, annuities and other investment related products.

  • Ensures risk profiles, goals, objectives and asset allocations are aligned and reflected properly for each client.

  • Delivers full range of investment products and services ensuring alignment to client goals and strategies while leveraging specialists and applicable investment management tools where appropriate.

  • Provides prompt, efficient and courteous service to both members and co-workers.

  • Adheres to the member experience as defined by management.

  • Works closely with other credit union departments and build positive relationships.

  • Consistently reports to work, on time, as scheduled including Saturdays.


QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Ability):



  • Must have a minimum of 3 years experience in the Securities industry and at least three years of recent sales experience offering mutual funds, annuities, and insurance products.

  • Preferred minimum of 3 years experience in providing a goals-based wealth management approach, including planning for retirement, education, legacy, and other life goals through investment advice and guidance.

  • Must also have a thorough knowledge of financial markets as it relates to securities and insurance sales and

  • marketing and the ability to collect and analyze data and analyze periodic financial and insurance-related products.

  • Strong analytical and portfolio management skills with the ability to identify trends and implement investment strategies to increase growth and mitigate risk.

  • Ability to make sound decisions by having a deep understanding of investment management best practices and policies/procedures.

  • California Life Only Insurance agents and variable contract licenses are required. FINRA series 7, 63, 65 and/or 66 licenses are required. Will consider series 6 and 63 individual with extensive experience.

  • Advanced industry accreditation such as a CFP, CRPC, AIF or AAMS required. Qualified candidates without credentials must be able to obtain them within six (6) months of hire.

  • Working experience using Microsoft Office suite of products.

  • Community involvement considered a plus.


This role will start out in our Burbank branch, but may be moved to another branch location after training
