Position Overview


The FP&A Analyst prepares financial reports for internal use at the company by collecting, analyzing, formatting, and presenting information. Working in connection with the Senior FP&A Analyst, they help drive the budgeting and forecasting process across MullenLowe & Mediahub.


Responsibilities



  • Budgeting and forecasting

    • Ensure timely and accurate submission of office financial plans

    • Provide variance analysis and commentary against actual results and through each forecasting cycle

    • Provide commercial insights and assumptions to drive the planning process and future business assumptions

    • Work with accounting team to provide detailed analysis of key cost areas and build budget assumptions and allocations across departments to drive accountability



  • Business reporting & analysis

    • Assist with rebuilding reporting for business and locations heads

    • Develop new reports and dashboards to highlight key trends and variances in key areas, build and maintain reporting cadence to business leads

    • Work across departments to deliver a regular management reporting pack to cover all relevant information and KPIs across key functions including finance, HR and operations

    • Partner with Client Finance Manager and Controller/Accounting staff to ensure a unified approach to financial reporting and analysis that minimizes duplication



  • Management Information Systems / Business Intelligence solutions

    • Assist in the development of new applications for MI tools to standardize and streamline internal reporting

    • Develop best practice for use of Excel in key reporting areas to ensure robust, efficient and error-free reporting environment

    • Support training and development of systems managed by FP&A and development of new ones




Qualifications



  • Education: Advanced education or professional qualification in accounting or finance

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience working in a commercial business environment



  • Systems:




    • Advanced working knowledge of Excel - from both data and financial analysis through to streamlined business reporting - equally capable of bridging the gap between Excel and more robust data analysis environments

    • Experience working with Power BI and writing DAX, Power Query and Power Pivot

    • Experience using SAP, Business Objects, SAP Business Planning and Consolidation or similar budgeting tools


    • Strong business analysis acumen associated with applying databases and MI tools to practical analysis and problem solving




  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver on tight reporting deadlines

  • Articulate with proven communication skills - stepping back from the numbers to provide business insights

  • Ability to build and maintain strong, business-focused relationships

  • A hands-on, detailed and driven individual with strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks, proactive and problem solving mindset
