ESOP Consultant at Ascensus

Job Description:


Swerdlin & Company is an actuarial and third party administration (TPA) firm based in Atlanta, GA.
We are looking for a candidate for our defined contribution team. The perfect candidate would be a
highly motivated individual with exceptional work ethic and a strong knowledge of ESOP and 401(k) plan
administration. The successful candidate will have the ability to meet goals and deadlines while working
in a fast paced environment.

Responsibilities include the following:

* Responsible for the overall client engagement from start to finish;
* Complete plan allocations, perform all compliance testing, prepare Form 5500 and required
schedules
* Assist with loans and distribution processing;
* Review plan documents to make certain they are updated for compliance as necessary;
* Must have a clear understanding of technical issues, and the ability to provide the necessary
consulting required both orally and written;
* Must have the ability to communicate clearly with Advisors, CPAs, Attorneys, etc. regarding the
operation of the plan/plans;
* Have extensive knowledge on legislative regulations of defined contribution plans, including, but
not limited to ESOP/KSOPs and 401(k).
* Interact appropriately with team members and colleagues at all levels.
* Document all procedures and processes and develop new procedures when needed;
* Enforce quality control by ensuring that each plan is properly reviewed by a peer, and all work
papers are checked and documented in writing.
* Must be a team player and a resource for others when needed;
* Monitor work to ensure that deadlines are being met;
* Assist with presentations on technical and non-technical topics at regional and national industry
conferences.

Qualifications for Position:

At least 2 years of experience in ESOP administration;
At least 2 years of experience in 401(k) administration;
Detail oriented and analytical;
Commitment to producing quality and timely work;
Ability to organize and multi-task;
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint);
Experience with Relius a plus;
Flexibility to work additional hours during peak activity months;
Flexibility to work remotely.
