Job Description:

Meyer Utility Structures is looking for a Project Manager to work in the Ft Worth, TX location. In this role, the Project Manager (PM) will work with all members of the Value Stream team to develop and execute plans to deliver designs, drawings, pricing, and the end product to customers. The PM will manage all activities including but not limited to coordinating proposal development, customer delivery schedules, managing approval cycles, scheduling and managing project tasks across Value Stream team members and working with Project Administration (PA) to ensure that all customer data and documents are distributed internally. The SPM will also coordinate with the Value Stream Manager to successfully deliver customer projects in a timely and profitable manner.



  • With support from the Market Development Manager (MDM) and the VSM, interface with customers, sales, quality and field service manager to coordinate a variety of post-sales service functions

  • Acts as a liaison between customer and Meyer Utility Structures (MUS), providing schedule updates and change order management coordination to the customer including providing customer’s feedback to the internal team.

  • Develop project schedules and manage projects to the schedule on a daily basis using Visual Management capabilities.

  • Work with the VSM and the plant to meet customer expectations

  • Identify potential project issues, work with appropriate parties to develop mutually agreed upon mitigation actions and report on project status / issues and key actions to VSM.

  • Assist Functional Manager as needed to monitor and report on quality issues, rework levels and productivity

  • Coordinate closely with the VSM and the MDM to ensure customer expectations are met while maximizing profits for MUS.

  •  With support from the MDM, develop pricing that:
    Is in compliance with existing contracts
    Is optimized to capture/maintain business and achieve maximum margins

  •  Ensure change orders are managed properly, pricing revisions are captured and optimized, and schedules are modified to the satisfaction of the customer (where possible) and can be supported by all functions

  • With support from the VSM and fellow PMs, lead all functions to support expedited delivery requests and establish appropriate pricing and schedule

  • Build and maintain Standard Work Procedures for each alliance customer

  • Develops winning tactics for bid projects through innovation, engineering, scheduling, and cost management.

  • Assists MDM, VSM, and Sales Dept. to develop strategic proposals

What you'll need:



  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of two years technical and customer account administration experience

  • Preferably more than one (1) year of managing large projects

  • Working knowledge of utility structures industry preferred

Required Soft Skills:



  • Intermediate level of communication skills specifically for providing direction to team members and building customer relationships

  • Basic level of understanding of legal terms and language pertaining to supply contracts

  • Basic knowledge of commodities markets and how they pertain to pricing and supply contracts

  • Basic understanding of cost drivers within structure designs

  • Basic level of ability to manage expectations within a project
