Performs analysis on project plans and proposes projects that deliver solutions and services to meet the business and product needs of the organization. Gives support to and initiates appropriate project processes which ensure forward progress, highlight and mitigate risks, and ensure alignment with stated project objectives. Assists project leaders as they scan the business environment to identify potential issues that may impact the quality of services, interfere with the organization's ability to manage its risks, and/or create opportunities to address these issues more effectively.

Responsibilities


  • Provide analytical support for various projects/programs, assisting in budget analysis, adjustment, re-budgeting and other financial analysis, drafting cost at completion, developing cost to complete projects as support to PMO director, change orders calculations, preparation of weekly, monthly, and quarterly PMO reports, also the documentation, monitoring, and communication of project status reports.
  • Work with Project Management staff to resolve revenue, equipment, and payable entry issues. Work with Fleet administrative staff to resolve equipment cost and income entry errors. Facilitate Payables by job and by overhead account through H&M procurement to ensure each transaction is recorded to the appropriate job/overhead account. Research and resolve payable transaction issues.
  • Provide support, but not limited to project set-up, budgets, job maintenance, reporting, and project performance assessment.
  • Support the project management office with overseeing and coordinating projects, contributing to project planning, preparing, and maintaining documentation, reviewing contracts and financials, monitoring project activities, and evaluating the overall project.
  • Derive insights from large amounts of data that support and guide optimal project performance.
  • He/she should also be meticulous when it comes to preparing documentation and reports. ​​​​​​​ Interact effectively with senior leadership to articulate issues and propose potential solutions.
  • Research potential solutions and help design and deliver projects that successfully address the issues identified.
  • Develop, launch, drive, and track comprehensive programs, and analyze and measure the effectiveness of these programs.
  • Support the program management processes of integration, scope, schedule, budget, quality, resources, communication, risk, and procurement.
  • Assist with project initiation, estimation, planning, requirements gathering, analysis and design, technical reviews, integration, implementation, operational turnover, and project closing.
  • Monitor project commitments ensures development and approval of planning documents, reviews technical requirements, and determines resource allocations.
  • Recommend corrective actions, participate in the formal project change control process, and attend technical reviews.
  • Track and escalate action items, monitor project delivery and client satisfaction, and communicate with all appropriate levels of management including directors, general managers, managers, subject matter experts, and clients.
  • Act as a consultant to the department and division management, customers, and client organizations on specific and strategic areas.
  • Prepare highly complex and detailed analysis in support of major programs, projects, contracts, or business unit and corporate goals.
  • Analyze and report on department weekly financials, Accounts Receivable, Under Billing, Equipment utilization, and Overhead transactions by Operations Unit ID.
  • Provide data collection, analysis of data, presentations and reporting, database administration, project assessment, and creation and maintenance of templates, forms, and processes.

  • Participate in the implementation and execution of Henkels & McCoy's Project Management Methodology (PMM) on assigned projects.
  • Collect data required to monitor project budget and progress.
  • Assist in analyzing work progress by calculating/preparing various comparison reports.
  • Assist in monitoring progress of work per cost accounting adherence with budget.
  • Coordinate and administer routine contract work using standardized and prescribed methods
  • Ensure compliance with customer contract terms and conditions.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and administrative guidelines and ensure the financial integrity of project reporting.
  • Contribute to project planning, budgeting, and overall strategy.
  • Establish key performance indicators.
  • Monitor and evaluate the overall project.
  • Analyze project data and producing insights to optimize performance.
  • Identify problems and shortfalls and proposing solutions.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain project documentation and reports.
  • Review project contracts and financials.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor degree preferred, experience in accounting, contract administration or project management; may substitute 2 years of experience in accounting, contract administration or project management for college degree
  • Understanding of financial tools and ability to master Henkels & McCoy systems - JD Edwards.
  • Prefer knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles for construction companies.
  • Excellent computer skills, including knowledge of MS Office software. Candidates should be advanced computer users; this should include email, Microsoft Excel, word, and database systems.
  • Candidates should be detail oriented and be able to pick up on new concepts quickly and work independently with little daily direction
  • The functions that are essential to being a successful candidate are: experience in general accounting, office roles, knowledge of payroll/benefits and job cost accounting, excellent computer, and communication skills.
  • Knowledgeable in all phases of the project management life cycle.
  • Strong computer skills and experience with relevant software programs. Experience with stakeholder and financial management.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
