The Product Specialist will support Business Development strategies, targeted toward existing and new markets by performing the following duties personally, and in conjunction with Service Center leadership.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Within the Product category, provide “tactical” support on requests for help in: facilitating quotes; sourcing suggestions; processing suggestions; tolerances; packaging; logistics; specs, etc.
Under direction of Business Development Manager(s) for Aluminum & Stainless Long, provide solutions to customers and sales contacts; determine costs and develop proposals.
Participate in development of strategic initiatives.
Recommend product positioning and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible returns.
Gather/Provide feedback (internally and externally) on projects tracked in Business Development.
Evaluate market research to exploit new opportunities.
Establish relationships and meet with Samuel branches, key clients, suppliers and industry influencers
Work with internal marketing group to plan promotional activities including print, online, electronic media, and direct mail.
Represent company at trade association meetings to promote product
Participate in planned training events led by BD- Managers
Monitor competitor products, sales and marketing activities.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree/diploma in Business Administration
Technical and/or Technical Sales focused.
Minimum 10 years’ industry experience.
Minimum 5 years’ experience within product category.
Strong knowledge of metal (Aluminum & Stainless Long) applications and attributes
Ability to leverage expertise to provide value to customers.
Physical Abilities
Travel required (moderate at first) and then “select” travel will be determine by Business Development Manager
