This position is in the Corporate Finance – Turnaround and Restructuring practice, which provides strategic, operational and financial advice to private equity firms, management teams, boards of directors, investors, hedge funds and other lenders to both underperforming and growing companies.  Our team of experienced, hands-on practitioners is results-oriented and data driven.  Our market-leading Turnaround and Restructuring practice collaborates as partners with management teams to focus on strategic options to maximum value for stakeholders.  We also deliver interim management to companies in need of C-Suite level experience and targeted surge resources to ease the pressure on management teams.

About the Opportunity


The ideal candidate should enjoy working in small teams of 3-5 ambitious professionals on a diverse range of assignments, and they should be passionate about solving business problems with a heavy focus on financial projection results and future operations of companies.  BRG is interested in individuals with a strong financial background, willing to live in New York, with 4 - 6 years of experience in turnaround and restructuring, management or strategy consulting, Transactions Services, Investment Banking (M&A) or FP&A for a large corporation.   


Primary Focus


We are seeking qualified individuals to join the Turnaround & Restructuring team; skills should include experience in:



  • Three statement financial modeling, including scenario planning

  • Financial planning & analysis

  • 13-week cash flow modeling

  • Chapter 11 process

  • Transactions, including sales of assets or businesses

  • Management presentation reporting

Qualifications


Specific skills and experience should include:



  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting/Finance, Management, Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, or related field

  • A Master’s degree, MBA, CFA, or CPA is a plus

  • Familiarity with building and improving budget and forecast models

  • Expert working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Solid understanding of financial statements and financial analysis

  • Entrepreneurial mindset, with ability to problem solve and think outside-the-box

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and a confident and clear communication style

  • Aptitude to develop insights and recommendations to business problems

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize changing work demands and learn quickly

  • Mature presence, empathy, and intellectual curiosity
