Job Description:

UHV’s School of Business Administration invites applications for a tenure-track opening in Management with a specialization in MIS at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor depending on qualifications beginning August 2021. Appropriate rank will be determined based on the expectations for teaching, research and service outlined in our Promotion and Tenure criteria (available on request). Our AACSB International accredited programs include a Bachelor of Business Administration with a number of concentrations including Management, and three graduate programs—the Strategic MBA, the Global MBA, and the MS in Accounting. Undergraduate enrollment is over 1100 students, and combined graduate enrollments total nearly 700.

 

Required Qualifications: 


  • Earned doctorate in Management Information Systems or related field from a regionally accredited university; ABDs with confirmed completion within a few months also will be considered.

  • A passion for teaching, the ability to conduct quality research, enthusiasm for and experience in experiential learning and community engagement

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Earned doctorate from an AACSB accredited business program

  • Experience in teaching a variety of Information Systems courses including Programming, Mobile and Web application development, Computer Networking and DataCommunications, Enterprise Architecture, Cybersecurlty, Business Analytics and other information systems core and elective courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

  • A clear commitment to enhancing the diversity of the faculty, graduate, and undergraduate student population.

Position Summary: The position is based in Victoria, Texas and the successful candidate will be prepared to be fully engaged in the Victoria community.  The appointment is a nine month, tenure track position with the following responsibilities: teach 9 credit hours per semester in a broad variety of undergraduate and graduate level courses primarily in MIS and data analytics via online, interactive TV, and face to face modalities; pursue quality scholarly activity; participate in course and program development; perform university and professional service; engage with the local business community to provide our students with real world experiential learning opportunities and enhance their career development; and perform other duties as assigned by the dean and the chair.
