Howmet Fastening Systems is looking for an Electrician in our Maintenance department. This role is responsible for performing electrical maintenance and repair of all production and facility equipment. Interface with subcontractors in the repair of production and facility equipment. Specify and order required repair parts and supplies. Assure a safe and healthful workplace. Key Responsibilities:


  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Must have knowledge of shop mathematics and OHM's aw.
  • Must be able to use electrical test equipment such as ammeters, voltmeters, ohmmeters, etc.
  • Must have own hand tools.
  • Must be able to identify components in manufacturers and parts manuals
  • Must be able to make sketches of circuitry for troubleshooting.
  • Must know and comply with the National Electrical Code and other applicable codes.
  • Installs, maintains and repairs all AC, DC and single or 3 phase electrical components, motors, starters, and related equipment on all types of equipment or buildings.
  • Plans and lays out work as necessary.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
  • Will be expected to do quality work and care for his equipment.
  • Must keep work area clean and orderly.
  • Must wear safety equipment provided and work safely at all times.
  • Make out production reports, time cards and other reports or forms as required.
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex problems with variable frequency AC and DC motor drives where OEM technical support was typically called in before. Must have mechanical aptitude, ability, and 5 years minimum experience or equivalent in an industrial environment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex problems with programmable logic controllers and peripheral systems and equipment requiring onsite OEM technical support in the past.
  • Maintain revised, updated and new plant and equipment electrical drawings using AutoCad.
  • Must be able to disassemble damaged or worn equipment/units, repairing/replacing defective components, reassembles and tests for proper operation.
  • Research and recommend specifications for new electrical equipment.
  • Design, develop, program, integrate and install new and upgraded process and control systems.
  • System administrator for computerized maintenance management system, AMMS.
  • Responsible for electrical predictive maintenance program development, operation, compliance and use of technology.
  • Maintain and monitor 20KVA UPS system for IT department that I specified and recommended after catastrophic data loss event.
  • Organize and monitor spare parts inventory and advise when spare parts need replacement.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance on productions equipment.
  • When performing any tasks involving hazardous chemicals or hazardous wastes, follow the regulations and requirements of SP Plan, RCRA regulations and operating procedures involving hazardous chemicals outlined in the Huck Fastener Environmental Management System.
  • Maintains full compliance with Company policies and procedures and conducts all activities in accordance with the Company Guide to Business Conduct.
  • Demonstrates a knowledge of and commitment to lean manufacturing principles and techniques.
  • Performs all work activities in accordance with safety and environmental standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years of electrical experience in a manufacturing environment performing machine maintenance and repair.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
