Overview

The SJS Agile Project Manager for Lean Transformation and Six Sigma process measurement will assist with general project planning, such as developing, forecasting and tracking project budget, timeline, resource allocation, and scope, using the Agile framework or the Agile methodology to develop efficient solutions to remedy organizational issues. He or she will assist with benchmarking, measuring and improving processes by collecting, documenting and monitoring Six Sigma data trends. He or she will report to the Executive Sensei.

Responsibilities


  • Help suggest and develop Lean Transformation solutions and systems for healthcare with an iterative, modular, building block approach

  • Help launch viable new processes as fast as possible at 80 percent complete, if 100 percent completion is not achievable quickly enough

  • Participate in Value Stream mapping and related forms of Lean Transformation organizational analysis

  • Pivot and adapt project management techniques fast in response to changing operational or business requirements

  • Execute planning and management simultaneously rather than serially to maximize efficiency and responsiveness

  • Help the Lean Transformation team prioritize its objectives using analytical techniques like cost of delay analysis, calculation of short-term and long-term ROI, etc.

  • Hold or participate in short duration scrum sessions-which are roughly equivalent to lean kaizen process improvement sessions-to involve all stakeholders in rapid solutions development

  • Calculate and measure performance trends and help minimize deviations using Six Sigma or lean measurement techniques; suggest appropriate measurement techniques for use by the project team

  • Hold or participate in retrospective meetings/after-action reviews to document lessons learned for the project team; incorporate lessons learned into the project management methodology

  • Provide the Executive Sensei and client organization with consulting, advisory services and recommendations for project management improvements

  • Report to the Lean Transformation Executive Sensei daily and weekly as necessary about the status of various concurrent projects; assist Executive Sensei with preparation and composition of reports, charts and graphs, slide decks and other deliverables as necessary

  • Other related Lean or Six Sigma project management tasks as assigned.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Industrial Psychology or similar from an accredited 4-year college or university

  • Five (5) or more years of experience as an Agile Project Manager for a large-scale healthcare and medical organization's Lean Transformation office or program.

  • Familiarity with how to conduct benchmarking, performance data collection and reporting, trend analysis, forecasting, Six Sigma measurements/techniques and other quantitative assessments of project status

  • Veterans hiring preference-because this is a position in support of the VA

  • Familiarity with the Strategic Analytics for Improvement and Learning (SAIL) system is a plus

  • Pass background check and fingerprinting

  • Pass drug screening.
