Job Description:

Summary of Position:  Provides legal advice and research for the Minority Caucus. Researches and analyzes legislation for members of the Minority Caucus.  Works closely with and under the direction of the Minority Chief of Staff and Minority Legal Counsel.

Essential functions include:

1. Provides legal research and advice on bills and amendments

2. Provides initial drafts of bills and amendments

3. Provides advice regarding parliamentary procedure

4. Consults with minority House members and staff to help address legal issues

5. Provides information for and works with lobbyists and employees in other legislative offices and agencies

6. Researches, analyzes and summarizes bills, amendments and legislative topics

7. Provides talking points for members

8. Consults with legislators, legislative staff, and Legislative Service Commission staff on legislative policy issues

9. Provides information to and works with lobbyists and employees in other legislative and government offices and agencies

10. Completes additional tasks as assigned by the Minority Legal Counsel or Minority Chief of Staff

Minimum Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate degree

• One year of relevant work experience

• Admission to Ohio Bar
